This is the story of an amazing mum who took her future and love of family into her own hands and created a love that is well worth the effort it took to realise.

At age 36, Mel decided that she was not willing to wait for a worthy partner but would take matters into her own hands and have a baby on on her own. The process was not an easy one and took a few years of trying, month after month, until finally success!

Mel's life changed and then one became two. Mel had beautiful little Caitlin and her life was forever enriched. I love the bond that is on display here between Mel and baby Caitlin, it was one of my more heartfelt sessions and I will forever remember this story as the brave mum who took on the task of having a baby on her own terms! <3 M

​I have been so lucky to photograph both of these gorgeous boys as babies and their super stylish mum always comes with the goods. The original session was cowboy themed with an actual saddle, whip and traditional cowboy hat.

So, I have officially been accepted as an AIPP accredited professional photographer. I put off getting my accreditation for many years as between business duties, home duties and trying to be the best mum I can be, the accreditation consistently became the lower priority.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?

Accreditation is designed to give you, the consumer, confidence that your Professional Photographer is a proven, experienced, technically capable, professional practitioner, who complies with all legal business requirements, has appropriate insurance and who is willing to agree to the mandatory Code of Professional Practice and to the requirement to continually improve their photographic skills by committing to continue their professional development.
To become accredited, a Professional Photographer has to:

1. Demonstrate that they have been practicing for a minimum of 2 years.
2. Demonstrate that they have satisfied clients and suppliers by providing written references.
3. Demonstrate that they comply with all legal, ethical and moral business requirements to practice as a professional in Australia.
4. Demonstrate that their photographic skills are of our required "Professional Standard".
5. Agree to have a portfolio of their work, assessed by a panel of experienced AIPP image assessors.
6. Achieve the required portfolio assessment standard.
7. Agree to continue their professional development through the AIPP CPD program, maintaining up to date skills and business practices each year.

The AIPP continually monitors its ACCC certified accreditation requirements to ensure that the standard for accredited membership is appropriate for the profession of photography in 2017 and beyond.

The major takeaway from this new title is that you can rest assured that you are in good hands as judged by the national governing body for photography in Australia!
